Inspiration

The inspiration behind SyncTrace stemmed from the necessity to enhance real-time tracking and data collection, particularly in remote and high-altitude pilgrimage sites like Kedarnath and Amarnath. With the aim of ensuring the safety and security of pilgrims. SyncTrace utilizes cutting-edge technology to provide reliable monitoring solutions.

What it does

SyncTrace serves as a comprehensive tracking system designed to facilitate real-time monitoring and data collection in high-altitude pilgrimage sites. Leveraging LoRa (Long Range Network) technology and Neo 6 GPS, it enables precise location tracking and data transmission. The wearable device, resembling a wristband, acts as the primary transmitter, sending data to a receiver unit. The system also includes a web application with full authentication capabilities, allowing authorized users to access and analyze the collected data.

How we built it

SyncTrace was built through a combination of hardware and software development. The hardware components, including the transmitter and receiver units, were carefully designed and assembled to ensure reliability and durability. The integration of LoRa technology and Neo 6 GPS required meticulous engineering to achieve seamless communication and accurate positioning. On the software side, a web application was developed to provide a user-friendly interface for data visualization and analysis. This involved implementing robust authentication mechanisms to ensure secure access to the collected data.

Challenges we ran into

During the prototype development phase, we faced difficulties in establishing a connection between the GPS module and satellite signals. This challenge was exacerbated by cloudy weather conditions, which hindered the reception of GPS signals. However, after persistent efforts and waiting for improved weather conditions, we were ultimately successful in establishing a stable connection and obtaining accurate coordinates from the satellite signals.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Despite the challenges faced, we're proud to have successfully developed SyncTrace, a robust tracking solution tailored for high-altitude pilgrimage sites. The integration of LoRa technology and Neo 6 GPS has enabled reliable real-time tracking and data collection, contributing to enhanced safety and security in challenging environments.

What we learned

Through the development of SyncTrace, we gained valuable insights into the complexities of real-time tracking systems and the challenges associated with operating in remote and harsh environments. We learned to adapt our designs and strategies to overcome technical hurdles and ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the solution.

What's next for High Altitude Pligrimage Tracking

Looking ahead, we envision further enhancements and optimizations for SyncTrace to better serve the needs of high-altitude pilgrimage tracking. This includes refining the hardware design for improved durability and battery life, as well as expanding the capabilities of the web application to provide advanced analytics and insights. Additionally, we aim to explore potential partnerships and collaborations to deploy SyncTrace in additional pilgrimage sites and military installations, furthering its impact on safety and security.
