The Problem
When booking a hotel online, travellers can see advertised prices, ratings, reviews, and room information. But important details often remain uncertain: real-time availability, what is actually included, cancellation terms, direct rates, upgrades, or additional perks.
Finding the best real-world offer often means manually calling multiple hotels, repeating the same questions, comparing responses, and following up to confirm the final terms.
The Solution
HiFi is an AI hotel procurement agent that handles this process through phone conversations.
A traveler enters their destination, dates, guests, room requirements, budget, and preferences. HiFi discovers and ranks relevant hotels using Google Maps/Places, then uses CALL-E to contact selected hotels directly.
During each call, HiFi verifies availability, room type, pricing, taxes, breakfast, cancellation policies, advance payment requirements, and other relevant conditions. When appropriate, the agent negotiates for a better direct rate or additional benefits such as breakfast, upgrades, airport transfers, or flexible cancellation.
CALL-E converts the conversations into structured results that HiFi can compare across hotels. The traveler can then select the best verified offer.
After the traveler proceeds with the simulated payment flow, HiFi makes a second CALL-E call to confirm the reservation and agreed terms with the hotel.
Why CALL-E
CALL-E is the core phone interaction layer in HiFi. The application uses CALL-E at runtime to conduct real hotel conversations rather than simulating the phone interaction.
This allows HiFi to turn information that normally requires manual phone calls into structured, comparable hotel offers.
What makes HiFi different
HiFi is not simply another hotel search interface. Online booking platforms show what a hotel advertises. HiFi adds a verification and procurement layer by contacting hotels directly and finding out what they can actually offer.
The result is a workflow of:
Search → Verify → Negotiate → Compare → Confirm
For the hackathon, payment is simulated, while the hotel verification and confirmation calls use CALL-E.
