Inspiration

I use the Pomodoro timer to help me study for tests and I thought it would be a good idea if there could be a website where the timer was introduced. That way students can have a to-do list, take notes, use the timer, study, and take game breaks all on one simple website.

What it does

Students are able to interact with other members by email on the directory based on strengths and weaknesses, that way they are able to find study buddies that they can help out as well as get guidance from. These like-minded students can also use services such as mini lessons to see what you're strong subjects are during non-school days so that you know what you are good at during the school days. The notepad and educational games are also available so even when you are taking a break you are learning. The small community allows students to contribute to the website and help one another.

How we built it

We used HTML for basic structure and imaging. We used bootstrap for designing outside pages and CSS for superficial outlines. Javascript was used for other things like the timer and mini games to give it functionality. We used Kahoot (as sited in the Build with section) to create the trivia. We build out website using Qoom.

Challenges we ran into

We coordinated through discord and three different time zones in order to complete this vast project. We made sure to communicate and let one another know what we were doing. Some challenges we ran into were technical challenges such as printing the spreadsheet and familiarizing ourselves with Javascript/bootstrap. Some of the more complex mini games also took more time and research.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Coming together and completing an entire companies website on how to study in two days. Adapting to the new coding languages and troubleshooting to maximize our format and content. We used database to store information.

What we learned

We learned Javascript and brushed up on other languages. We also learned how to maneuver Qoom and make a website through it. We learned how to communicate with people far away from us and give out tasks to maximize our time and build a website in the short amount of time!

What's next for Hidden Hackers | Pomodoro Study Website

Next we can add more mini lessons and content as well as games, we can also improve upon our format, require authentication, make a discord and eventually form a community of students helping one another!
