Hidden Gems

Inspiration

I know that many small businesses have been struggling to stay afloat, especially now in the Bay Area with a new surge of Covid-19 cases and I wanted to create something that would help people support local small businesses.

What it does

It helps people find small businesses in their area based on the category they are searching for.

How I built it

I used Figma to create a prototype of the website.

Challenges I ran into

Coming up with an idea and choosing a color palette for the design.

What I learned

A lot of thought goes into every element of a design.

What's next for Hidden Gems

I want to have a way in which people could donate money to support small businesses beyond just looking places up. I also want to touch up the design and add the remaining pages which are a work in progress.
