Inspiration

As graduating students, we all desire to do whatever and whenever we want. Personally, for us, we want to travel around the world. Unfortunately, we lack the knowledge or money regarding to investment. We have this mindset that investment is for old or rich people. We don’t have a dedicated teacher to explain to us. From there, we were to inspire to create a solution to solve this.

What it does

HiCher, a localized word for “Hi Teacher”, is an educational financial service chatbot that allows user to search on financial information and knowledge provided by BlackRock targeted primarily to students from the range of 19-25.

How we built it

We built the chatbot using the C# with a Microsoft Bot Framework.

Challenges we ran into

The challenges were implementing Blackrock and Paypal API into the chatbot. Learning and designing the proper framework into it and creating the content for it. Gathering requirements and creating a solution

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Within the short time span and working for the first time, we are proud that we are not fighting and arguing on the streets about code or business decisions.

What we learned

We learnt to work under high stress conditions and learn new functions and methods to solve the necessary problems such implementing it on Facebook Messenger and using the Paypal API.

What's next for HiCher

We would love to continue to work with BlackRock and focus on removing the ignorance and increasing the knowledge on investment to students.

We can enhance the chatbot by making it smarter by increasing its work complexity based on ad-hoc, unpredictable and judgment based.

A way to grow for HiCher would be to share and partner with schools such as universities and polytechnics.

A way to monetize HiCher would be to position itself as a Bot-As-A-Service where premium content can be done on a monthly subscription, charging a small fee to users when investing or charge a “preferred broker” fee to financial institutions.
