Inspiration
Dementia is a very widespread issue, affecting over 6 million people in the US, and more than 10% of those older than 65. Some of our group members even know people who have been impacted by these issues. Fortunately, there are definitely ways that technology can help people with dementia/alzheimer's.
What it does
The goal of the app is to connect people with issues like dementia to various services as well as provide things like reminders to help people experiencing cognitive decline with their day to day lives.
How we built it
We used some app building software called draftbit to design our app.
Challenges we ran into
We had a hard time figuring out how to collaborate effectively on this project, especially due to a general lack of experience with coding. Once we got to actually creating the project in Draftbit, we had a difficult time making the app function correctly due to limited experience, however we were eventually able to make a working prototype.
What we learned
We learned a lot about programming basics and we gained exposure to various programming tools through this hackathon.
