Inspiration

I grew up speaking Chinese (child of immigrants) but am slowly losing it because I speak English every day. I've also always been illiterate in Chinese, because I spent all my time in Chinese school drawing in my notebook instead of paying attention.

This year I'm trying to use Anki to learn how to read/write Chinese. It's going well, but I wish I had a more dynamic way to practice vocab. This is my attempt to fill that need.

What it does

It takes you Anki cards and generates example sentences for Chinese vocab cards, using LLMs.

How we built it

It's made with Svelte and Tauri.

It's simple, but it works!

What's next for Hexagram

Right now, it's kind of hard coded to the schema of the Anki deck I use. It'd be nice if it was more flexible.
