Inspiration

We want young children to learn and be inspired by these influential women, some of who may not be as well known due to discrimination.

What it does

Shares a short bio about the life of an influential woman that has a birthday of the current date.

How I built it

We built the app through LOTS of research on Android Studio. We divided the design work. Kania and Sofia worked on creating the app. Dana worked on the research and content of the app. We all watched many, many tutorial videos.

Challenges I ran into

We had to pivot many times on what project to create, since all of us are new at programming. We had difficulties understanding how Java and Android Studio works.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

We are a group of beginning programmers and we completed an android app!

What I learned

We learned how to create an android app. We also learned about Firebase.

What's next for HerStory

We would like to create a notification connected to Firebase that sends automatic messages to reminds kids to open and read the bios!
