Inspiration
"Herping" is the hobby of searching for reptiles and amphibians in the wild. One of our team members, an avid Herping enthusiast, wants an online application to assist him on his adventures.
What it does
Herpedex has many features, including a place to take/log herp photos, trip planning information for beginners, and a place to connect with the community. User data can be shared with conservationists in order to identify invasive species and protect endangered ones.
How we built it
Some softwares we used included Python, Javascript, Github, Flask, PropelAuth, and Vue.
Challenges we ran into
Since we're a group of beginner hackers, a lot of this was a huge learning process.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to use PropelAuth's amazing features to create login and account pages
What's next for Herpedex
Editing the visuals to look closer to our initial vision! We also want to implement a PWA for mobile use.
