Inspiration

Witnessing the disconnect between traditional education and real-world skills prompted me to create a system that celebrates entrepreneurial mindsets with my high school students, making learning both purposeful and engaging.

What it does

HeroCash rewards students with virtual currency when they demonstrate key entrepreneurial traits like excellence, teamwork, and creativity. Students will be able to redeem their earnings for meaningful school-appropriate rewards.

How we built it

I developed a digital platform that allows teachers to award HeroCash through a simple interface, tracking student achievements while maintaining a transparent reward system that's easy for both educators and students to navigate.

Challenges we ran into

Balancing reward values to ensure fairness across different types of achievements and designing a system that motivated all students—not just high achievers—has required multiple iterations and careful consideration.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

I've created a system that visibly increases student engagement and builds real-world skills, with early tests showing concept adoptions with the goals of stronger demonstration of entrepreneurial behaviors.

What we learned

Students respond powerfully to immediate recognition of soft skills, and the right incentive structure can transform classroom dynamics far more effectively than traditional grading alone.

What's next for HeroCash Student Rewards Platform

I'm tracking to expand to include more grade levels, developing an app for easier access, and creating cross-subject coordination to provide expanded reward options that further connect student achievements to real-world opportunities.
