Inspiration

We’ve often been frustrated by the enormity of the global challenges facing us all. Among many others, we are observing accelerating climate change, environmental destruction, and inequality. In the meantime, more and more people are connected to the Internet and interested in cryptocurrency transactions.

What it does

Herobit allows people to financially contribute to well-selected humanitarian and environmental projects, and to be rewarded in a fun way with NFTs that they can collect, trade, or sell on an open marketplace.

How we built it

We’ve mapped out the concept, we’re doing a lot of market research, we’ve purchased a website for demonstrations, and we’re planning interviews and discussions with potential stakeholders.

Challenges we ran into

Time has been a major constraint. We still have a lot of work to do on market research and on building out an early working version of the solution. We also had some false-starts with team-building before forming the current 2-person team – which we hope to prudently expand now that our hair-on-fire problem and concept for a solution is established.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

After several variations, we now have what we believe is a solid concept – and we’re excited about building and testing our solution with potential contributors and partners.

What we learned

We have learned an enormous amount about blockchain technology and business building in a short amount of time, and we have turned over several ideas for humanitarian and environmental solutions that didn’t pan out – learning each time from the ideas that were considered.

What's next for Herobit

We plan to continue work on this project whether or not we are accepted into the accelerator. We’d like to continue market research, to talk to - and listen well to - many potential stakeholders (donors, nonprofits, creative artists, service providers), to build mock-ups of what the solution might look like, to continue learning about the technology and trends in the space, and to decide how best to add team members who can help us build out our solution.
