Inspiration

Thank you for working.

While most of us are being told to stay home, workers on the frontlines are in the battle against coronavirus. Medicare professionals, pharmacy employees, food and agricultural workers, energy sector employees, government workers, we might not always recognize some professions and individuals as “essential” until we need them, they are doing everything to help us stay safe and healthy but risking themselves in COVID-19 exposure. I'm extremely grateful those people who are helping us through this crisis.

What it does

Not just me, around the world, people are thanking those on the COVID-19 frontline. This is a platform where people can drop a message/thank you notes also for workers to share stories about the battle against Coronavirus.

Hope it will inspire more and more people take a second to thank and be nice to them.

How I built it

Frontend: React

Backend: NestJS and PostgreSQL

Deployment: AWS

Challenges I ran into

At this moment, it is a prototype.

I simply need more time to finish the application.

What's next for Hero Stories

I've started with the React app and put it in S3 for now to get people a taste of what it looks like.

  • Backend Deployment (AWS - Lambda, API Gateway, Cloudfront)
