Inspiration
For students who have dealt with mental health issues, sometimes it feels simply easier to be open when seeking advice when not burdened by confrontation or relying on people one personally knows. We sought to create a lighthearted platform utilizing the power of the Internet and its built-in communities to provide custom support on the most common mental health or psychologically related issues.
What it does
Users are invited daily to complete a survey detailing their mental state and health for not only their review later but as a base to customize pages with random relevant open sources for free discussion on the topic at hand!
How we built it
We brainstormed and created a low fidelity on paper to then develop the design slowly through the careful distribution of tasks based on our expertise and experience level.
Challenges we ran into
We found that our differing experiences with design and our personal mental health backgrounds gave us very different perspectives on what we felt would be best for the function and design. We collaborated to find a happy medium!
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We feel that the theme was decently comprehensive, seeping into casual corners of the design for that holistic cohesion.
What we learned
We learned to try to cut down time coming up with specific design decisions, in the beginning, to leave room for error of changing minds later.
What's next for Hero Health
A refining of the more nuanced facets of the app's design to account for other working or administrative actions vital to it's function in a practical sense.
