Inspiration - The importance of positive reinforcement and safe practices as a habit!

What it does - Accepts a user's schedule and sends automated safety tips depending on what type of activity they are engaging in. ie, getting home (lock your doors!), commuting (check behind you when you back out!), etc.

How we built it - Firebase backend, JavaScript and html/CSS frontend, compiled with Flask.

Challenges we ran into - Overly ambitious initial project set us back 6-8 hours. Also, without knowing React, Firebase was difficult to implement.

Accomplishments that we're proud of - The beautiful UI and branding, and the potential of the project to help others.

What we learned - Don't take on a project that is much too ambitious! It's less time thank you think you have.

What's next for Hermit - Once Firebase starts to work with HTML, nothing is stopping us!
