Inspiration
The situation about organ transplantation procedure in India (& the whole world) is desynchronized . Every hospital has a separate list of patients waiting for organ transplants but they don't have any connection in their lists so patients may miss golden oppurtunities in nearby hospitals if they haven't registered there separately
What it does
Hermes is a centralized system to keep track of the organ transplantation queue for all organs
How we built it
We built this using NodeJS and MongoDB for working with dynamic data and efficient aggregation of data.
Challenges we ran into
Implementing Efficient Algorithms for Cross Donor Matching. Creating an Easy to use API which abstracts away the minute details from the user but still provides enough control to provide a high level of successfull matches.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
First of a kind Innovation in the the HealthCare Sector Implementation of Complex Data Matching Algorithms in an efficient manner Solved a Problem faced by more than 45% of people in India
What we learned
Create Robust and Secure DB designs Creating a sweet spot in abstraction of Mission Critical details in REST APIs
What's next for Hermes
Implement A Deep Convolutional Net as part of a reinforced network which learns from the organ transplant data available to the hospitals to find more successful matches **Implement the custom made A.D.I.T.I. (Advanced Data Integration with The Internet) framework (currently a private project in development , soon to be released)
