Inspiration

Hundreds of emails flood your inbox everyday and because of that you miss out on important information. Deadlines and opportunities missed because your inbox was filled with clutter. Meet Hermes GO - AI email assistant that optimizes your emails so that you only need to focus on the most important information and can go about your busy day.

What it does

Hermes GO classifies and prioritizes your email based on your needs. It clears out the clutter and creates automatic responses so that you don't have to waste your time typing it all out. It makes a planner for the day so that you can meet all your important deadlines and take care of urgent matter.

How we built it

It was built using Python and Node.js. We also used Google Cloud Console, Gemini API Key and Render for backend deployment.

Challenges we ran into

There were many challenges with loading the front end and backend. We redid the visual UI UX in the middle of the project so that caused some challenges as well. As we were building it, Gmail literally copied some of our ideas such as automatic unsubscribing and summarizing long emails. We had to come up with a lot more ideas to make our project stand out.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud of coming up with this idea in the first place since we thought we were the first ones to think of this but turns out email automation is already a thing. But we made it from just email automation into email assistant. We added a lot of features that would've been useful for us in normal day-to-day life.

What we learned

We learned that although you may think your idea is unique, there may already be a version of it out there but instead of taking that as a negative sign, you must keep moving forward and make your idea stand out as much as possible and not listen to unconstructive criticism.

What's next for Hermes GO

Hermes GO can turn into a voice enabled assistant and can work as a sidebar while you focus on your main work. It an do things by itself with just one voice memo and send notifications when it needs confirmations.
