Inspiration

Most of the world's women and girls face difficulties accessing health-related information and services. HerHealth was inspired by such gaps that need to be filled in with the power of technology and artificial intelligence, as a safe, accessible, and reliable health education support platform. We believe it's time to take the power back to women, empower them to make informed health decisions, connect them with experts, and offer them a supportive community.

What it does

HerHealth offers an integrated service package that includes:

  • Expert Consultants: Health professionals for private consultations and advice.
  • Gemini Chatbot: An AI-driven chatbot, the Gemini chatbot has been designed to realize the goal of real-time health consulting. It will help answer many common health queries and make recommendations.
  • Events and Webinars: Regular webinars from medical professionals and health experts on a wide range of topics pertinent to women's health.
  • Blogs: Articles about different health and wellness concerns.
  • Support Groups in the Community: A place where the women can share experiences, ask questions, and support one another.

How we built it

We developed HerHealth using:

  • Frontend: React.js, to provide a responsive and intuitive user interface that would give seamless and smooth navigation, thereby making users stay in better engagement.
  • Backend: Node.js, handling the server side of this application with the integration of different features like chatbot and community groups.

Challenges we ran into

HerHealth's construction was not without challenges:

  • Integration of Real-Time Chat: The AI chatbot needed to be tested for the health advice it returned to ensure that it was accurate and reliable.
  • Community Building: Creating a space where members could honestly engage with and support one another while maintaining a secure discussion environment.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're really proud of:

  • The successful deployment of the Gemini Chatbot, which gives credible and empathetic health advice.
  • Developing an easy, user-friendly, and secure platform that has already begun building a community of women in support of each other.

What we learned

Working on HerHealth taught us the importance of:

What's next for HerHealth_Hub

Moving forward, we plan to:

  • Scale AI capabilities, including symptom tracking and personal health recommendations.
  • Increase the number of in-person events and workshops in outreach programs to women in the most remote of areas.
  • Partner with health organizations to provide subsidized health services and reach an even greater audience.
  • Develop a mobile app so HerHealth will be even more accessible on-the-go.
