Inspiration

I was inspired by seeing our city magazine which held a list of events that were happening that month which my mom was throwing away. I realized that there were a lot of people like her who didn't read it and didn't know about certain events so I decided to create an app where people can post about it.

What it does

It allows people to post events with a title and description which will show up on everybody who has the app's feed in case they are interested in joining. Upon clicking the card it shows more information like time and description.

How I built it

I built it using flutter and firebase.

Challenges I ran into

I ran into integrating firestore with flutter as it was my first time.

Accomplishments that I'm proud of

I am proud about making my first flutter app that I submitted to a hackathon and how I overcame my challenge.

What I learned

I learned how to add data between navigation in screens which reduces the number of calls that I have to make to the cloud server making the app more effecient.

What's next for Here and Now

It can have a Google Maps API section on the about the event page which will better show people where the event is held.
