Inspiration
I play a lot of 2d games and pc games during my childhood. My mind sparked with ideas to create games but due to some reasons I left the game dev as career choice. In college i get to know about flutter using which i have done some projects and pretty much familiar with it. And suddenly Flutter team launched this event this made child self wake up and get started with a silly game with Flame.
What it does
My game name is Here Again which is a 2d pixel art roguelike twisted path maze puzzle game. I name it Here Again because the player may go into a maze and come back to the same place repeatedly. Game Concept: The player have to find a way to a place and do some sustainable tasks like watering plants, collecting trash, saving water etc...,
How I built it
I am a solo dev during the first week i learnt to use flame and implemented some things which i may needed in my project. And after that i started doing the project
Challenges I ran into
I don't appropriate assets so I had to create from scratch for which I used Aseprite pixel art editor. Solved a millions of bugs. Wrote a lot of code then realized its garbage and rewrote them.
Accomplishments that I am proud of
Completing an amazing game project as an Indie game dev. Now I can call myself game dev hahaha. Implemented a player power which is like teleporting inside the map
What I learned
I learned to do pixel art design. Level design using Tiled. Learnt the game loop concept.
What's next for Here Again
Currently the game is in a beta stage I am planned to add more levels and leaderboard in the game. I am also intended to us firebase for player to player chatting and sharing of game cards etc..,
