Inspiration

The inspiration for the project "HerbWise Discoveries" stems from the profound value of traditional medicinal plants and the need to bridge the gap between traditional knowledge and modern technology. Medicinal plants have been used for centuries by indigenous communities for their healing properties, but identifying and verifying these plants can be challenging. By leveraging the power of machine learning and image processing, your project aims to make this process more accessible, efficient, and accurate. This fusion of ancient wisdom and cutting-edge technology has the potential to unlock new insights into the world of herbal medicine, benefiting both traditional practices and modern healthcare.

Prototype: Features

"Revolutionary Solution" - Employing advanced Machine Learning and Image Processing, our app transforms plant identification. "Faster Recognition" - Our app is able to recognize plants within 1 to 2 seconds which no other app in the market has achieved this speed. "Instant Insights" - Users snap a plant photo, and our app delivers plant name, medicinal uses, and preparation methods (various ways to use the plant or how to use the plant) instantly. "Tailored Recommendations" - Unique AI learns user preferences, suggesting personalized plant-related content and rare species discovery. "Global Plant Community" - Our app fosters a vibrant community of plant enthusiasts sharing discoveries and insights worldwide. "Augmented Reality Exploration" - Dive deeper with AR, allowing users to explore a detailed 3D model of the identified plant. "Discover Plant Locations" - Users can explore the geographic areas of plant availability, fostering a deeper connection with nature. "Botanical Chatbot" - Instantly access plant knowledge via our friendly chatbot for a personalized plant Q&A experience.

Use Cases

Some existing applications in the market for plant identification include "PlantSnap", "iNaturalist" , and "PictureThis" However, these apps primarily focus on general plant identification and lack the specialized knowledge and precision needed for medicinal plant identification. They do not provide detailed medicinal uses and instructions, which is where our application shines. "Versatile Applications" – Our app caters to a range of users from nature enthusiasts to healthcare practitioners. "Universal Utility" - Whether in the wild or your backyard, our app is your botanical companion. "Green Impact" - Our app promotes conservation efforts by educating users about endangered species and habitats. " Gardening Guru " - For gardeners, our app offers personalized plant care tips and helps identify potential threats to your garden, ensuring your green space thrives. "Botanical Wisdom Chat" - Get instant answers and insights about plants through our intelligent chatbot, making plant knowledge accessible to all.

Technology stack

HTML, CSS, JS, aframe.io: Create a Web interface for our project with AR rendering of plant images. Android Studio: Develop the mobile app. Tensorflow: Power plant recognition and training the model. We created our own ML model using these: Microsoft Azure: Host cloud-based services. OpenCV: Enhance image processing. Unity Engine: Enable Augmented Reality.
