Her space: developing as a complete beginner

we were inspired after seeing the opening ceremony guest, we thought about how many girls didn't/ couldn't have a proper space to study comfortably and we decided that we would try to fix that by creating a better mental space for studying.

The idea was for the website to create multiple rooms in which the participants would be able to be matched with other, like minded students with similar goals, so that they would: encourage each other, help each other and keep each other on track during their studies. unfortunately we couldn't finish this.

We built it we used basic html and css to built while using internet resources to help along the way.

we mainly had two challenges while developing it: the first one being that we are total beginners so we had to do a lot of googling on how to achieve an effect and choosing the most efficient way for the project along with watching a lot of tutorials on basic html and css coding, which took up a lot of our available time. The second one being, that half our team was unresponsive, so for the firs 10-13 hours it was only Emna and Samanta working on the project, thankfully, another team was going through a similar issue and we gained a new member (pearl) along the way, who was extremely helpful.

We're honestly just proud that managed to built this project at all. before the project we had no idea about web design and the fact that we even managed to built what we built is amazing and something we're really proud of.

We learned the very basics of coding with html and CSS and how to work in teams, we learned just how useful having a teammate to help each other along the process really is.

What's next for Her? Space next we would be building the rooms and resources page so that the webpage is actually functional along with designing the algorithm to match users with their new study mates.
