Inspiration

I was previously the Chief Product Officer at AirAsia cargo, and much of my work centered on data visibility & making our end-to-end air cargo logistics workflows visible to our CMS. We struggled with many of the workflows being done on paper, spreadsheets, and informal workflows.

Now we build air cargo software for airlines as the first VC-backed cargo operating system.

What it does

Stakeholders such as ground handlers, shippers, and truckers typically lack convenient access to CMS data, which results in data and communications moving to informal whatsapp groups, paper, and spreadsheets.

Our solution (HenkGPT) helps give functionality to the one tool they have available: whatsapp

How we built it

The messaging interface is built on the Twilio and OpenAI API's to connect to our CMS.

Challenges we ran into

There are a few technical limitations due to the time constraints of the hackathon:

/ we need to use join six-never to trigger the sandbox (we used a free Twilio account) / we didn't have time to build in the "memory" for ChatGPT (it doesn't look at previous messages) / not all of our queries have natural language LLM's, so we had to hardcode some prompts / we were limited in the # of tables we connected to & the functionality (time constraints)

Accomplishments that we're proud of

It works! (well, sort of)

Obviously, there's a tremendous amount of polishing that can be done, but this is definitely enough of a proof-of-concept to being presenting to airlines, as it gives them just enough of an understanding of the capabilities.

What we learned

/ 24 hours is not a lot of time to build a solution :P / even Turkish Cargo struggles with cargo terminal operations leaking to paper, spreadsheets, and whatsapp, so this is a problem that every airline faces

What's next for HenkGPT: Making ONE Record data accessible by all

We'll need to polish it up a bit to add functionality and broaden the natural language prompts, and soon this is something we can being rolling out to our airline customers
