HenHatch

Inspiration

We were inspired by a struggle to find new hobbies and staying consistent at improving and developing these skills. We needed a fun, easy way to build good habits in hobbies or activities.

What it does

It uses the Gemini API to generate specific tasks related to hobbies or activities we want to work on. Once a task is completed, there is an egg that cracks a little bit. Each completed task creates more cracks in the egg, eventually hatching into a collectible Hen! This is a great motivating tool to build strong and healthy habits.

How we built it

We created a local html web server that interfaces with an app.py script. When users run the script, they can open the link and easily use HenHatch!

Challenges we ran into

We ran into issues with our small experience with coding. We had issues getting the API to run, as well as a lot of the html buttons. It was very challenging, but we're very proud of what we were able to accomplish.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We're proud we were able to get the Gemini API to run. We were also really happy with our custom hens and the art style we came up with.

What we learned

We learned so much about API creation and html web servers. We also learned how difficult is was to make an web application, and how much harder it can be when you only have 24 hours.
