HelpYours is a React application developed to connect users with big organizations and providing logistics during crises.

Inspiration

We analyzed that lot of peoples had a major injury just because they can't get help like a FirstAid, Ambulance, Blood at a right time. And we also found that lot of organizations are ready to help them but they can't get connect. So we decided to make a bridge between them so the user can ask for help and organizations can provide help easily.

What it does

It helps users to connect to the organization. So the organizations can provide help during crisis. So in simple way it send the user's name,contact,location,and its need to MongoDB with help of axios post request. And Volunteer get that request with axios get request.

How we built it

We used Figma for setting the UI of our app which helped us to set up our vision towards the app. We used React, Javascript for frontend, for designing purpose we used Bootstrap and fontawesome. For Server side we used Node js and express. For storing the data of users and volunteers we used Mongo DB.

Challenges we ran into

First we both are agree on that we are making the app in consider the mobile users only but later we decided make the app usefull for majority devices so changing the design again that bit time consuming. Second one is while making a post and get request we had to make a new request for each task so that was very frustrating and we get a lot of errors. But at the end that is what hackathons motive. To do out of our comfort zone. So we enjoyed this challenges.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

First that we had able to achieve our figma design. We are proud that what we think we are able to deliver. We are especially proud of our idea, and believe HelpYours has a unique approach.

What we learned

We both learned lot and we tried actually new things while making this app. Like a Figma, Mongo DB post,get,put requests for each task. So i think what experience we gained while making this app was awesome.

What's next for HelpYours

At this time we made HelpYours as a prototype and didn't add any additional features to it. But as we go we planned to add a notification functionality with volunteers can get a actual alert on his device. And we also decided to promote this as can as possible. So every human being can get benefit of this application.
