Helpvr
The first ever social network and community to help people in the real world through virtual reality in real-time!
Inspiration
Helpvr was inspired by the idea of being able to help people in need, while seeing through their eyes.
What it does
Helpvr allows users to request help from other users within the community, while wearing augmented reality googles. Other users that are willing to help, can accept the request and then put on Virtual Reality goggles (such as Oculus Rift, iPhone, Android) and then see exactly what the other user is seeing in real-time - and instruct the user in need of help, how to do what they are looking to do.
How we built it
We build the app in iOS utilizing Twilio video conferencing, and then storing videos in a database via Ziggeo. We use Google Cardboard SDK and Vuforia, or create both the augmented reality experience and the live streaming virtual reality experience.
Challenges we ran into
Setting up Vuforia SDK. There is a small delay right now for the augmented reality experience.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Creating the peer to peer AR to VR experience and live video streaming.
What's next for Helpvr
Creating a community, marketplace, and directory of A/R guides for users to learn how to do things, while wearing VR. More awesome features that will make this experience even better!
