HelpThem aims to connect organisations, event organisors and volunteers to meet these organisations' needs. It also helps to raise awareness of the organisations which are less known to the community.

Inspiration

Sometimes, it could be difficult to find organisations where you would want to spend your time.

Sometimes, you had a great idea to organise events for the organisation but had trouble looking for volunteers.

Sometimes, it is difficult to keep track of your volunteering activities.

What it does

Our App, HelpThem, will solve these troubles. With our app, one can look through all the organisations available. Have an event in mind? Contact the organisations to liase with them.

Not enough manpower? After an event is created, the event will be displayed on the explore page for others to volunteer and spend their time meaningfully.

After the event/volunteering, your records will be stored on your profile page.

How we built it

With react native and use SQLite as the database.

Challenges we ran into

Insufficient time and expertise. We are not very familiar with react native and SQLite database when used with JavaScript. There is insufficient time for us to fully understand the entire react native framework and also time to understand how to connect SQLite with JavaScript language.

What's next for HelpThem

Implement more features that interact with the SQLite database. May be will include SQL in the future. Scape data from the charity organisations' pages instead of using test data.
