Inspiration

We got the inspiration for building this application because we eat food in the afternoon as well as in the evening at a food center. They used to throw away all the leftover food. We thought of building an application by which we can provide all the leftover food to the unfortunate and needy people who don't get proper two times meal a day.

What it does

Our Application has two users sides. First is I'm Helper(Restaurant Owner) and Second is I'm Coordinator(Person specific for the area to collect food (Food distribution Associate)). If the Restaurant Owner or the Food center owner has extra food left then they create a request to pick the food. They enter all the necessary details and make a request. The Coordinator on his side gets the request created by the restaurant owner to collect all food. (The name of the restaurant along with the address and food details are mentioned). The Coordinator goes to a particular Restaurant and picks the food and distributes it to unfortunate and needy people.

Challenges we ran into

Uploading the request data to firebase and show the same on the Coordinator side.
Once the Coordinator accepts the particular request then the particular request should be marked as approved along with the coordinator name and must be displayed in the dashboard of the Restaurant Owner.
Uploading the images of the coordinator and restaurant owner to the storage was difficult but managed by different libraries.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that our Hack will help most of the unfortunate and needy people to get a meal on time. As it is said that Food Donation is the Best Donation.

What we learned

From this hack, we have learned multiple things such as how to look for the problems in the society around us. We learned how to approach the problem and give a solution to it. We also learned new Technologies like Firebase and some of its features like Recycler View Adapter, Authentication, etc.
