Inspiration

Healthcare is a basic human right, but sadly, many people are still unable to afford hospital bills or even access proper healthcare. Seeing this made me wonder — why not build something that could solve this problem? That thought sparked the beginning of Helpify — a platform that aims to make healthcare accessible for everyone.

What it does

Helpify is a platform designed to connect individuals who need help paying for medical bills with those who want to support them. It simplifies the process of raising and contributing to medical funds, making it easier for communities to take care of each other.
With a focus on accessibility, it's built to be simple, fast, and effective.

How we built it

This journey was full of learning and building:

Frontend & UI: Built using Bolt, a next-gen app builder that accelerated UI development and improved iteration speed.
Backend & Realtime Data: Used Firebase for authentication, database, and realtime updates.
Hosting & Deployment: Netlify made deployments a breeze — just a click and it’s live!
Prompt Engineering: Learned to use enhanced prompts in Bolt to build features quickly and efficiently.
Bolt’s integration system helped automate a lot of the heavy lifting.

Challenges we ran into

Initially, I wasn’t using prompts efficiently which caused bugs and delays.
I didn’t give enough dedicated time in the beginning, which slowed down progress.
I faced issues during deployment until I discovered Netlify’s seamless flow.
Learning to prompt for small enhancements was a key mindset shift — it reduced errors and improved results.
