Inspiration
Our inspiration came from problems that we ourselves faced when trying to find information about the college testing and application process, as well as problems we faced in school this year.
What it does
Our website gives much needed information and relevant calculators to students who may require it, including information on studying for the SAT, applying to college, and AP classes. Additionally, it offers calculators such as an SAT to GPA approximator and an Ivy League Chance calculator.
How we built it
We built it using HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, and used Weebly to deploy a formatted version of the website.
Challenges we ran into
A major challenge we ran into was that only 1 member of our group had experience writing up html. Another major challenge we had was finding an effective means of presenting our solution.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are very proud of how easy the site is to navigate, as it is very straightforward, as well as the depth of the information contained on the site.
What we learned
Each of us gained experience in web development by learning how to code in JavaScript and place the script into a webpage. We also learned a lot about project and time management, as we had to manage our time well and divide the work in order to succeed.
What's next for HelpHighSchool
We are looking into fixing some bugs with the website, as well as possibly implementing more pages and calculators in order to make the site even more comprehensive.
