Inspiration
Hello everybody, we got the idea of connecting people who is looking for help, with those who want to help. They can register as help requesters / helpers.
What it does
As a helper you can activate the option of "instant help" where you would share your contact with a requester without accepting it first. We were thinking that leaving it all online might help many, but that the part of population who is in highly risk (elderly) are not really internet-friendly. This is why we thought about adding a Hotline, which can be shared in paper form in places where they frequent a lot, maybe in the radio/news channel aswell. A bot would collect the information and share it in the app. Then a requester can accept it and get the contact information.
How I built it
React frontend, Python backend, Twilio for voice api
Challenges I ran into
The main challenges we had was that some of this was very new technologies for some of us, so we were also learning as we went.
