This year’s theme of sustainability inspired our team to pause and reflect on problems people face every single day. One of the biggest yet most overlooked issues is home energy usage. Thermostats, lights, fans, and appliances are often left running because we forget to turn them off—or simply don’t want to get up and flip the switch.
We built this app/plugin to make managing energy use simpler and smarter. With just a tap on your phone or even just your voice, you can control your home devices instantly. Our goal is to tackle the extremely common problem of idly wasted energy, prevalent in everyone's daily life one way or another: energy that could be saved or redirected toward more beneficial uses in our communities.
With the rise of AI and LLMs, it’s time we applied these powerful tools to sustainability at home. Our system centralizes device control and allows for intelligent scheduling. For example, your thermostat can be set to turn on while you’re away so that when you return, your home is already at your preferred temperature without wasting energy the entire time you’re gone.
