Inspiration

We interviewed our friends studying overseas and found that many of them faced difficulties easing into their life there, and only realised the many things they could have done differently if they had proper advice from the start. Many found school support and senior networks to be especially helpful, so we thought about how we could expand on this idea to support non-student Singaporeans too.

What it does

Connect Singaporeans in the same places.

How we built it

We built the app using React, React-Route and Firebase Firestore. React serves as the frontend framework, while Redux enables it to become a single-page application. Our backend is built on-top firebase. Utilsing Firebase Firestore for cloud database storage, and Firebase Authentication for the Google Sign-in.

What's next for Hello World

Including a feature for users to dynamically change their location radius, linking MFA registration process with automatic HelloWorld account creation.
