Inspiration
As part of a CS19100 homework, we had to use the myPurdue Planner and we were very unhappy with the web app so we decided to change it.
What it does
Helps people design a 4 year plan quickly and easily with a pleasing UI design.
How we built it
We built it using Node.Js as the back end, Firebase as the database, used Angular.Js to make the front end pretty and work.
Challenges we ran into
Random bugs like the drag and drop not working. We also had the problem of only one person actually knowing Angular.Js and the rest of us were just learning as we go.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that our app works, that there is authentication and you can login again and still have all of your classes in the correct semesters.
What we learned
We learned how projects actually come together and how much collaboration goes into a web app. We also learned new languages.
What's next for Hello-World
We hope to come back next year and help be mentors for the second annual Hello-World Hackathon. We hope through this hackathon that we can inspire and help next year's freshman at least as much as the current mentors have helped us.
