Inspiration
*We created this game based on the traditional Chinese culture of valuing boys over girls.
In this reversed world, societal roles and terms are redefined: "people" refers to females, and "meople" refers to males, discarding traditional gender terms. Leadership and societal control are predominantly in the hands of people, not meople. Biological differences between the sexes are acknowledged, but the focus is on the societal implications of these distinctions.
What it does
- To allow meople(male) to gain insight into the experiences traditionally encountered by females in our world, potentially fostering empathy and understanding.
- To serve as a thought experiment for contemplating alternative future societies, recognizing that while it is uncertain whether a female-led world would be better or worse, the comparison might help strike a balance for an improved life.
- To offer a critique of current biases and discriminations against females, using the inversion of societal roles as a form of satire.
How we built it
- We used Unity as our engine and C# to program the game.
- We create our own handdrawn characters and world layouts.
Challenges we ran into
- Not enough time to completely meet our expectations.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
- Even though we did not meet our expectations, we still made a game! And we are proud of the story and the world we have built!
