Ins# HELLO 👋🏻🆘
"Help is just a HELLO away"
The Problem
Ambulances typically take 15–30 minutes to arrive in an emergency. Existing safety apps only alert a person's saved contacts — who are often too far away to help in time. Meanwhile, there are almost always people nearby who could physically reach the person in under 5 minutes, but no system connects them.
The Solution
HELLO is a hyperlocal emergency response app. When a user presses SOS, an alert instantly goes out to every registered HELLO user within a 500m radius — not just personal contacts. Nearby helpers see the emergency type and distance, accept the alert, and get real-time navigation to reach the person. The person in need sees live tracking of who's coming and their ETA.
How It Works
- User presses SOS
- Alert broadcasts to all helpers within 500m
- Nearest helpers get notified with distance + emergency type
- Helper accepts and navigates via live map
- Real-time tracking until help arrives
- Helper earns points, trust score, and a Community Hero certificate
Gemini AI Integration
HELLO uses the Google Gemini API to:
- Automatically classify incoming SOS alerts by emergency type (medical, safety, fire) based on the reporter's description, routing the right kind of nearby helper faster
- Generate real-time first-aid guidance for helpers while they're en route, so even untrained bystanders can act with confidence
Reward System
To sustain a reliable helper network, HELLO gamifies helping:
- Helper Points & trust score
- "Community Hero" certificates
- Monthly recognition & partner discounts
Safety & Abuse Prevention
- Verified identity via phone number + ID at signup
- False alert protection: 2-3 second press-and-hold to trigger SOS, with trust score decay for repeated false alerts
- Session-limited location sharing — only active during a live SOS, not persistent tracking
- Emergency-type routing — high-risk categories flagged separately from medical emergencies
- Good Samaritan framing — helpers connect and assist, not replace medical professionals
Business Model
- Government / municipal safety contracts
- Hospital partnerships
- Corporate CSR sponsorships
- Insurance partnerships
What's Next
Pilot launch in a single high-density location (college campus or residential community) to validate response times and helper engagement before wider rollout.
