Inspiration

Looking for a secure and efficient way to transfer currency between users by utilizing the block chain provided by Hedera.

What it does

The program creates a new account, allows for the transfer of funds between accounts, and provides a visual handshake for the user to confirm that they are transferring funds to the intended user.

How we built it

Because we did not have much experience coding utilizing Hedera, we referenced the provided tutorial in order to gain a baseline understanding of Hedera. From the knowledge that we gained we were then able to create multiple accounts within the Hedera smart contract. The accounts then communicated with each other in order to transfer funds from one account to a requesting account.

Challenges we ran into

Learning to utilize a blockchain application was a new experience for us. We had to not only learn the Hedera environment, but also understand blockchain related things such as "What is a testnet?"

Accomplishments that we're proud of and What we learned

We are proud to have learned, programmed and deployed our own blockchain application using Hedera. We feel that with these skills that we could tackle other blockchain environments and create other decentralized applications.

What's next for Hedera Money Transfer

Based on our research, we saw that we could utilize python libraries such as Web3 to create an application which could utilize Hedera Money Transfer on the blockchain.
