  HEBERIAN APP

The name of my app is Heberian. As a student of Bishop Heber College, I created this app to make every Heberian feel proud while also making college life easier. Heberian is an all-rounder application that brings together multiple useful features in one place. The first feature is Query IQ, a mini search engine that gives short, crisp, and easy-to-understand answers instead of long Google-style explanations, making it helpful for students, staff, and researchers. The app also includes Heberian Campus Navigation, which guides users to places inside the campus such as the cafeteria, departments, and labs, with voice recognition support in Tamil, English, and Hindi for first-year students. Another major feature is Job Matcher, where users can upload their resume to get matching job opportunities, previous years’ interview questions from various companies, and information on upcoming hiring schedules. Finally, the app has Heber Bot, which provides complete details about the college, including available departments, Arts and Science programs, course information, and career scope. Together, all these features make Heberian a smart, simple, and powerful app designed for everyone at Bishop Heber College.

What it does

Heberian is an all-in-one college companion app that provides quick information through a mini search engine, helps with campus navigation, suggests job opportunities using resume inputs, and offers complete academic and departmental guidance through an intelligent bot.

How we built it

We built Heberian using a combination of AI-based search algorithms, voice recognition technology, and a structured database that stores campus details, job data, and academic information. The app integrates multiple modules into a single user-friendly interface.

Challenges we ran into

Some challenges included organising large amounts of college-related data, ensuring accurate search results, integrating multilingual voice recognition, and combining various features without affecting app performance.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are proud that Heberian successfully brings together four major features—Query IQ, Campus Navigation, Job Matcher, and Heber Bot—into one seamless platform. We also achieved fast response accuracy and a clean interface suitable for all users.

What we learned

We learned how to structure complex data efficiently, implement AI-based search systems, work with voice technologies, and design an app that balances functionality, usability, and performance.

What's next for Heberian

Next, we plan to add real-time campus updates, attendance checking, timetables, event notifications, internship alerts, and integration with college ERP systems to make Heberian even more powerful and student-friendly.
