As I was waiting to take the DART down to HackDFW I spoke with a man who told me how he could no longer spend extensive periods of time out in the heat. The cause of this was his baseball coach who pushed him too hard one summer and inadvertently caused him to get heatstroke. I went into the hackathon having no idea what I wanted to do, but suddenly this random stranger gave me exactly what I needed. I designed a sensor that could wirelessly transmit data to either the computer or the connected screen. The goal for this was when the temperature hit a certain level it would let out a loud beep that would inform the user that the temperature had surpassed the certain threshold. Summer is a great time, but also a dangerous one. This piece of technology could have averted this issue and can potentially save many others.
