Inspiration
When we started this project we knew we wanted to create an app that would be useful and accessible and engaging to both Ukrainian refugees in need of help, especially those of marginalized communities, and the global community that wants to help. Thus, Heart’s Bazaar was born.
What it does
Heart’sBazaar is a web application that connects the Ukrainian people in need of basic resources to others who seek to provide direct aid in whatever way they can; in order to survive this devastating conflict that the country, we developed an accessible solution that strives to bridge the gap between the global community and the people on the ground who need immediate help.
How we built it
We started this project in Miro and created a feature prioritization matrix and a user flow.
We then moved to figma and built three iterations of our prototype and conducted user testing between each iteration using zoom, and figma to conduct the tests.
Challenges we ran into
Some challenges we went through were creating a seamless user flow for both potential users. Along with that, it was a bit difficult to implement the proper amount of ethos in order to show our sympathy, but to not take away from the simple, streamlined processes we wanted to accomplish.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are all very proud of the work that we accomplished and are hopeful that our application project can help inspire new ways to help those in incredible need find the help they deserve in a quicker and more empathetic way.
What we learned
Throughout this project we learned first and foremost how to work together as a team since we hadn’t worked together before this project. We also learned the power of feedback and utilizing our networks to get quality research in a short amount of time to inform our iterations and generate a more user friendly experience throughout our app as a result.
What's next for Hearts Bazaar
Our hope is to continue to iterate and gain additional input on the functionality and design of our app. Namely we hope to add a translation feature and a responsive map to the prototype very soon.
