How we built it HeartBridge Garden is a gamified cardiac rehab companion app designed for elderly patients. Here's the summary:
Core Concept Patients nurture a virtual garden that grows as they complete rehab exercises
Screens (6) My Garden (Home) — An illustrated 2D landscape with hills, clouds, and planted trees that sway. Plants reflect completed sessions Sessions — Weekly calendar with rehab exercises (walking, stretching, cycling). Users pick a plant species before starting a timed session that visually grows in real-time Progress — Plant growth timeline, health metrics (HR, steps), and milestone badges Community — Peer support feed, group challenges, anonymous garden gallery Notifications — Caregiver updates with toggles for what family members receive
Gamification Coins earned per session → spend in the Shop to unlock new plant species (10 total across trees, flowers, succulents, herbs) Streak counter for consecutive days Wilt mechanic — quitting a session early kills the plant Growth stages — each plant progresses through 4 visual stages during a session
Tech React + Vite + TypeScript + Tailwind CSS + Framer Motion All data is mock/hardcoded (no backend) Voice via browser SpeechSynthesis API
