Inspiration
Jamming in music is a style of playing where musicians improvise together without extensive preparation or set arrangements. It can involve playing solos, vamping over tunes, or crafting spontaneous compositions. Jamming can take place in many musical genres, including jazz, blues, rock, folk, and more, I play jazz guitar, jamming and improvisation has alway been a great joy of mine and brings communities together. One thing I think what AR can achieve is be able to play and share music interactivly whenever and whereever you want to with people who you might not know before but shares with the same passion. It could be in a coffee shop, it could be at the 3 mins before class, it could be something that happens when people are on the plane or subway as well.
What it does
I imagine when you start the game, you can either import sounds or choose the looping tracks that the system give you. and when you jam with someone you automatelly gets shared with one one of the sounds that the person you are jamming with have, vise versa.
How we built it
with Snap AR, lens studio, Type Script
Challenges we ran into
Using new technology, documentations that are hard to understand the gesture pickup isn't that accurate, so it's hard to play note by note
Accomplishments that we're proud of
be able to make music,
What we learned
AR is cool
What's next for HeartbeatJam
be able to generate visualizations of music to make it more impactful.
