As healthcare professionals, we witnessed the immense dedication and expertise of nurses around the world, yet recognized the lack of a unified platform for them to connect and collaborate. Inspired by the need to empower nurses and address global health challenges, we conceived HeartbeatHub.

How it justifies the theme of the Hackathon

HeartbeatHub epitomizes the theme of "Streamlining Solutions for Global Challenges" by offering a streamlined platform for nurses to collaborate and tackle pressing global health issues efficiently. It stands in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), notably contributing to Goal 3: Good Health and Well-being. Through seamless knowledge sharing and collaboration, HeartbeatHub addresses key challenges such as healthcare access, disparities, infectious diseases, and chronic conditions. Its scalability and speed ensure adaptability to evolving healthcare needs worldwide.

What it does

HeartbeatHub serves as an online community platform tailored specifically for nurses worldwide. It facilitates collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation among nurses to address pressing global health issues. Through forums, resource-sharing, and networking opportunities, HeartbeatHub empowers nurses to make a tangible impact on healthcare outcomes.

How we built it

We began by outlining the key features and functionalities required for an effective nursing community platform. Using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, we developed the frontend of HeartbeatHub, comprising landing pages, post displays, and detailed post views. We ensured a user-friendly interface and seamless navigation to enhance the user experience.

Challenges we ran into

One of the primary challenges we faced was designing a platform that catered to the diverse needs and preferences of nurses worldwide. Balancing functionality with simplicity while addressing various healthcare contexts required careful consideration and iteration. Additionally, integrating interactive elements and ensuring cross-browser compatibility posed technical hurdles that we had to overcome.
