HEAM-CHAIN: Project Story
What Inspired Us
Thalassemia is a preventable, life-changing genetic blood disorder. While researching the struggles faced by patients and caregivers, we found three pressing issues:

Irregular access to compatible blood donors.

Lack of awareness about genetic carrier screening.

Outdated or disconnected inventory systems in blood banks.

These issues are more severe in rural areas, where awareness, infrastructure, and real-time systems are lacking. We envisioned HEAM-CHAIN as a complete, tech-driven solution that could:

Empower patients by providing instant access to donors.

Promote preventive care through genetic awareness tools.

Use AI, IoT, and gamification to improve the donation ecosystem.
