Inspiration
Many adults face difficulties in the workforce when it comes to trying to balance their work life with their personal life and responsibilities. This type of stress can lead to many employees burning out from pure exhaustion and not having time to themselves. When they try to dedicate extreme amounts of time to their work in order to succeed, it can cause them to neglect their own mental health and well-being. In order to fix this, we created this app to help users visualize how much time in their day they dedicate to certain functions, such as work, hobbies, chores, and sleep.
What it does
Our app allows the user to input certain activities, such as how much time they spend at work or doing an activity, such as sports. It then compiles this into a pie chart to give a visual demonstration of how much time the user allots to certain categories. Within the app, you will also be able to look at data from previous days, weeks, or months to analyze your routine as a whole.
How we built it
We created a concept design for our app, which involved using canva for app design and Figma to format it into an app interface and show what it would look like on an iPhone.
Challenges we ran into
Both of our team members were relatively new to programming, hence we didn’t have much experience or skill to build an entire app or webpage. Therefore, we had to stick with creating an idea and programmed as much as we knew how to.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We’re very proud to say that we successfully incorporated a Groq API, which was a foreign concept to us coming into this hackathon. We are also proud that we completed this project as a whole and were able to come up with something innovative and useful!
What we learned
We learned the process behind designing an application, or application concept, and the different things we’d have to consider. We also learned how to use APIs and incorporate AI into our code.
What's next for Healthy LVN
We want to make the app more user-friendly by integrating things like google calendar to make inputting activities easier. It is also important to build a network of friends and family to view your goals and encourage your progress. Moreover, we need to connect the front and back end of the project. Finally, incorporating more data both from users and the internet to create better models and suggestions.
