Inspiration
We initially were going to do an insurance price matcher, but we couldn't find the datasets for it. However we stumbled across multiple datasets that we could use to predict certain types of ailments.
What it does
You can pick a tab at the top to select which assessment you would want to take. Then on the left sides you answer questions that are prompted, and then receive a risk score on the right.
How we built it
We built it using react for the front end, flask for the api, and we used python to create the models that are used to predict the risks.
Challenges we ran into
We ran into the challenge of being on a time crunch since we spent the first half of the hackathon brainstorming and looking for viable datasets. Then when it came to the regression models, we had a bit of trouble getting it to connect properly to the api.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud that we were able to actually complete the project before the deadline was over. Using the different skills that we have acquired through the years, being able to create this project showed us what we have learned as students in our classes/internships, as well as served as an opportunity to learn more about the other side we don't do as often.
What we learned
We learned more about data science and what goes into the process, starting with the dataset and ending with the connection to the front end. We also were able to improve our skills slightly in the areas we are less proficient in.
What's next for healthy hackers
Nothing. It's like the breakfast club. A bunch of random people who liked each other more than they thought, but now we part our separate ways.
