Inspiration: We noticed how difficult it is for people—especially students and busy professionals—to stay consistent with healthy routines. Most habit tracking apps are either too generic or fail to truly motivate users. We wanted to create a platform that’s not just a checklist, but a personal companion for building long-term wellness through visual progress, small wins, and science-backed design.
What it does: Healthy Habits Tracker helps users build and maintain healthy habits by offering: A personalized dashboard with habit tracking Visual analytics (weekly/monthly trends, heatmaps) Custom habit creation by category, frequency, and goals Motivation through badges, streaks, and consistency scores A dynamic progress system that updates in real time It turns small daily actions into a rewarding and insightful journey toward better health.
How we built it: We built the app using: React.js for the frontend Tailwind CSS for responsive and clean UI Chart.js / Recharts to visualize user data and habit trends Supabase for storing user habits and authentication
We designed it with scalability and user engagement in mind, focusing on simplicity, speed, and feedback-driven interactions.
Challenges we ran into: Designing a dashboard that’s both intuitive and data-rich without overwhelming the user Creating a smooth experience for habit creation and real-time progress updates Ensuring dynamic updates for analytics every time a habit is completed Balancing the motivational elements without making the interface cluttered
Accomplishments that we're proud of A clean, interactive dashboard with real-time habit tracking and analytics Dynamic, color-coded calendar views for habit activity A smooth user experience from login to tracking habits Thoughtful UI/UX that encourages consistency without pressure Strong foundation ready for scaling and AI integration
What we learned: The importance of visual motivation in health apps How real-time feedback can drive user behavior Best practices in UI/UX for habit-based applications How to design features that balance flexibility with simplicity
What's next for Healthy Habits Tracker: We’re excited to take this project forward with: AI-powered habit suggestions based on user goals and performance Social features like group challenges and shared goals Mobile app integration with push notifications and syncing with health APIs Deeper analytics, predictions, and habit recommendations Goal-based templates for things like weight loss, productivity, or stress management
This is just the beginning — we see Healthy Habits Tracker evolving into a smart wellness companion for anyone working toward a better version of themselves.
