Inspiration
As college students, we know that keeping track of your health isn't always the easiest thing to accomplish when you're under stressful situations. Therefore, we can't imagine what it would be like to have to maintain basic health while under a stressful situation of exploring the unknown.
What it does
Healthy Habits for Healthy Humans keeps track of your basic daily objectives. Through our daily checklist, we provide a module to help you accomplish these daily goals. So far, the daily goals consist of taking the time out of your day to take a deep breath, stretch, write a journal entry, and keep track of your water intake.
How we built it
We built this web application using the React framework, alongside Javascript, HTML, and CSS.
Challenges we ran into
We unfortunately did not have the proper time to build a database. With a proper database, we would be able to store the user's daily information, and provide a history to look back on their progress. In addition, we had minor setbacks, such as the water intake tracker, which unfortunately does not allow you to track by individual water bottles.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We built an entire, mostly functioning, web application with React. This was an accomplishment, as 2/3 of our team were React beginners. Still, we managed to create 10 components which helped in managing the organization of the project.
What we learned
We learned that without a database, a lot is hard to accomplish.
What's next for Healthy Habits for Healthy Humans
In the future, we hope to establish a functioning database, which would track a user's history. We would also ask for user input to gather information to provide more daily objectives, specifically catered to each user.
