Inspiration
We see many of the people we know and love have unhealthy eating habits and encourage them to live a healthier we build Healthy Eats.
What it does
Healthy Eats is a web app that is designed to encourage sustainable lifestyles through healthy eating. We show users groceries and meal plans according to their needs. We ask the user for input such as the number of family members they have, how much money they spend on food each month, and their overall goal: save money, eat healthier, specific diets. We also have other features such as a forum where user can share their food journey, ask questions and have thoughtful discussions, and a place where users can find new and interesting recipes to try.
How we built it
We build Healthy eats using HTML, CSS and javascript. We started by coding the homepage, the login page and then all the other features.
Challenges we ran into
In the beginning, we had a setback because we were constantly switching between different coding places as we did not know which one would allow us to collaborate effectively. So we ended up using replies. Throughout the day, we had many disagreements on what features to include, what tasks to focus on, the colours of the website and more. Still, we learned to collaborate, present our ideas, listen to each other, and sometimes compromise.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We are proud of how the login and register page turned out, even though we spent a lot of time on it. Since this was the first time many of us were making a web app, we weren't sure how to start with many tasks, including the login page, but in the end, we worked together and made parts of the website work
What's next for Healthy Eats
We want to add and improve on the features we created. One feature that we had in mind but could not make was the forum feature. We also want to enhance the CSS and javascript part of the code to have a great time trying to eat a healthier meal in any circumstance they are in.
