Both of us used to be competitive swimmers but grew complacent due to COVID. We realized we had unknowingly slipped into bad habits that affected our lifestyle. Here, we decided to create a Webapp to keep ourselves in check.

What it does

HealthWealth is designed to allow its users to gain awareness to potentially harmful lifestyle habits. By being aware of these dangers, users can make informed decisions to improve their quality of life. HealthWealth achieves this by providing an objective view of a persons life style and offers them different resources catered to their lifestyle. These resources range from an exercise plan to different diet options to even better sleep schedule management.

How we built it

The backend is in Python utilizing the Django framework. The front end is a mix of HTML/CSS and JavaScript. We use Jquery AJAX requests to asynchronously update the front end. Moreover, we use Chart.js to create a chart of spending over a period of time. We use Pandas and statistical analysis to make predictions and recommended actions. A neat thing we also did was utilize GitHub branches and CI/CD to check the build quality.

Challenges we ran into

One of the largest challenges we ran into was setting up our statistical analysis. Here, we were able to overcome this by integrating different languages and synergize them with HTTP requests. This is why we have API endpoints in our project and AJAX requests.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We are most proud of setting up our CI/CD environment up to build. We have never worked with GitHub actions so it was a blast learning about it.

What we learned

We learned a lot about building inside a CI/CD enviroment. Moreover, we took the next steps to deploy.

What's next for HealthWealth

If given more time, we would love to ship our ML model into the Django app. At the moment, the two are currently separated but predictions would great enhance our statistical analysis.
