Inspiration

Health is wealth — and for me, this is deeply personal.

In 2015, my dad suffered an ischemic stroke caused by sudden blood pressure spikes. Though he survived it at that time but sadly, he passed away in 2021. Since then, I’ve always wondered how I could help people monitor their vitals better and live longer, healthier lives.

Recently, my husband started experiencing occasional BP spikes, which brought back my dad’s story. I realized it was finally time to build a solution, not just for my family but for anyone who wants to take proactive steps toward better health.

That’s how Vital Health Tracker was born.

What it does

Vital Health Tracker helps you take charge of your health.

You can easily track your blood pressure and blood sugar levels, visualize trends, and gain insights into how your lifestyle, habits, and medications affect your vitals.

The app is designed to empower you to understand your body better, make informed decisions, and even share data with your healthcare provider. You also have access to smart recommendations based on the last 7days data. Check it out here!

How we built it

Simplicity and accessibility were at the core.

We built Vital Health Tracker as a responsive web application using React for a smooth and interactive experience. The app is hosted on Netlify for easy and fast access.

It integrates dynamic data visualization so users can instantly see trends, and it was designed to be intuitive enough for anyone — regardless of technical background — to use effortlessly.

Challenges we ran into

Turning a personal vision into a technical reality wasn’t easy.

  • Designing a user-friendly interface that feels welcoming and not intimidating
  • Handling real-time data updates and maintaining accurate trend analyses
  • Balancing simplicity with meaningful insights and potential future features, like personalized recommendations

These challenges pushed me to think deeper about the user experience and build a truly helpful tool.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

Transforming a personal loss into a tool that can help others is our biggest accomplishment.

I am proud of creating an app that is not only functional but also meaningful. Watching it come to life and knowing it might empower someone to prevent a health crisis is deeply rewarding.

What we learned

Health tech is about empathy as much as technology.

Through this project, I learned the importance of putting users' real needs first — creating something that feels supportive rather than overwhelming, and understanding how emotional stories can inspire practical solutions.

What's next for HealthTrackerPro

This is just getting started!

Next, we plan to:

  • Integrate reminders and alerts to encourage consistent tracking
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure data can be seamlessly shared and interpreted in clinical contexts
  • Explore wearable integrations for automatic data logging

Our mission is to help people live longer, healthier, and happier lives, one vital sign at a time.
